So it’s Day 8 of Lent and I am pleased to say I have not eaten anything chocolate.
The list of foods I normally eat, that I have given up, includes:
All chocolate bars and buttons
Pain au Chocolat
Costa’s medium hot chocolate
Chocolate Digestive biscuits
Anything with chocolate brought into the office for elevensies
Just writing it down makes me realise how much crap I eat! Obviously I don’t eat all of the above every day, but cutting it out will make a big difference surely?!
And I haven’t replaced all of the above with non-chocolate crap. Previous attempts I have made, I usually end up substituting and will eat donuts, cake, crisps..anything snacky and sugary. But I haven’t done that this time
So it was with hope that I weighed myself this morning.
Weight: 12st 2.2lbs (+2oz)
BMI: 27.1 (+0.1)
Body Fat: 35.4 (+0.4)
So I have gained weight!
To say I am annoyed and deflated is an understatement. It’s not so much the stats, I know it’s only a 2oz gain, but its the frustration of trying at something and feeling stuck.
I will complete the 6 weeks, as I am being sponsored. I also know it IS better for me. I HAVE to remember it has only been a week.
It is also a reminder to me that I have done the right thing having tests at the doctors to get a picture of my overall health (please see My Lent Challenge post about some of my health issues).
Oh well, onwards and upwards!
